Theresa wrote a letter in which she explains here thoughts behind this beautiful work.   The  quot;rag pickerquot; is quot;a person who collects rags and trash to use or sell.  In a sense, the poet or writer is a quot;rag pickerquot; taking ideas, new and discarded, and turning them into something else.  I think of my writing life this wayquot;.
