A dictionary is made up of language fragments called words. I have altered a language fragment book into a visual fragment book. We use language to articulate the meaning of art, imposing a spoken and written language onto a visual language. This book also changes that order by imposing a visual language onto a written language by pasting, collaging and painting over words. The ordering or sequence of a visual dictionary would be different to a word dictionary as there is no alphabetical order for visual fragments. That form of categorization belongs to words. |
